After I published the last film, I spent several evenings doing something that has quietly become my favorite part of making these videos – I sat with a cup of coffee and read your comments. One after another. Some made me laugh, some stayed in my thoughts for hours, and a few brought tears to my eyes. Not tears of sadness, but the kind that come when your heart suddenly feels very full. Reading your stories reminded me that although we come from different places and different lives, we somehow keep meeting in the same little corner of the world, somewhere between music, memory, and imagination.

As I was thinking about what to create next, I realized I didn’t want to make something bigger. I wanted to make something warmer. I wanted this film to feel like those comments made me feel.

A few months ago, while traveling through Switzerland, I found myself in the small mountain village of Elm during the Glarner Alpchäs- und Schabziger-Märt cheese festival. I wasn’t expecting inspiration that day. I simply wandered through the village, watching older women laugh as they sold handmade cheese and older men quietly sitting beside their gentle cows. No one seemed in a hurry. No one was trying to prove anything. They simply looked content, and there was something incredibly beautiful about that. Standing there, I felt an unexpected sense of peace wash over me, and I remember thinking, “Maybe happiness becomes quieter as we grow older – but it also becomes deeper.”

That quiet thought followed me all the way home, and little by little it became this film.

Every roofless room you see in this story represents a life that has been lived. A sewing room. A music room. A classroom. A little barber shop. A library. The walls have weathered with time, but the memories remain, and now the sky has become the ceiling. I loved the idea that even when parts of life disappear, something even more beautiful can be revealed.

The two songs tell that same story in different ways. “The Roof Came Down” is about letting go of fear, stepping into the open light, and discovering that we never needed the walls we hid behind. “I Still Do” is about the quieter miracle of love – the kind that survives ordinary mornings, difficult years, laughter, loss, growing older together, and still finds a reason to say those three little words again.

More than anything, I hope this film leaves you with the same feeling those wonderful people in Switzerland left with me – a peaceful heart, a grateful smile, and perhaps one small happy tear.
