he is protecting his people by eliminating a threat.

The crowd — chanting “Non es amicus Caesaris!”
unaware it is a tool
in a game whose rules it doesn’t know.

One man says:
“Li ba’in attun.” — It is me you seek.
And does not step back.

Not because he is brave.
Because he is free.
