THE OUTPOST is a cinematic sci-fi thriller about choices under pressure – the kind you don’t get to “think through” – but certainly have to live with. On a remote world, a fortified mountain station rides out a once-in-a-generation planetary storm – until a catastrophic impact knocks their shielding system offline. With an X-class solar event closing in, the pair have just minutes to reach a damaged outpost, restore the link, and make it back alive. But when time runs out and an accident changes the math, survival stops being a plan… and becomes a choice.

This film isn’t about heroics. It’s about what it costs to do the “right” thing when there is no right – only consequences.

🎬 PRODUCTION WORKFLOW & AI TOOLS: This short film was created entirely using state-of-the-art Generative AI tools to push the boundaries of narrative consistency, grounded dialogue, and cinematic realism.

Direction & Prompt Engineering: Powered by Gemini 3. The AI acted as a cinematic prompt partner and director, generating scene-aware prompt variants to maintain tone, continuity, and emotional escalation across the entire film. ChatGPT was also used in some cases to assist with creative dialogue brainstorming.

Video Generation: Generated using Veo 3. We leveraged Veo 3’s Frames to Video & Ingredients to Video capabilities to preserve character fidelity, facial consistency, and naturalistic blocking in a single-location dialogue-driven story.

Audio: Much of the audio was direct output from Veo 3, though there was also a substantial amount of SFX and atmospheric effects along with the music itself that were all sourced from Artlist.io. Additionally, ElevenLabs was used to isolate Veo 3 vocals in some instances for optimized clarity.

Visual Aesthetics & References: Master reference plates and character anchors were synthesized using Nano Banana 2, establishing the film’s gritty, sci-fi, otherworldly aesthetic.
