ATLAS i3 is an AI-generated sci-fi short film exploring the future of AI filmmaking and cinematic visual effects.
AI/3D Hybrid Technology study film (Part 1)
CEA – Content created entirely artificially.
The aim of this project is to explore new territories that go beyond traditional VFX techniques and support filmmaking processes, where AI can take on renewed roles.
How can it systematically track the shape and lighting conditions of locations, objects, and vehicles, and how can these be applied consistently within a story from cut to cut?
We also sought to map the relationship between AI technology and the traditional, emotion-driven, dialogue-centered, narrative portrayal of characters.
The question was how close the technology is to moving beyond the correction, replacement, or modification of generated backgrounds, and toward taking over certain scenes involving characters as well—thereby simplifying and accelerating production.
Can AI-generated elements be used convincingly as extras, for supporting roles, for scene replacement, or even as fully independent characters?
How far are we from the point where, as a standalone genre, perhaps lower-budget B-category productions could become immersive and entertaining using this technology—not just for a scene or two, but over the duration of an entire story?
